Here are some tips before you go:

> Make sure your passport is up to date

> Book your flight - we took United Airlines there and back. All flights were on time, comfortable and an overall great experience. #unitedairlines

> Review transportation options

> Car Rental - we used Hertz

> Trains

> Obtain your International Driving Permit - you can pick one up at your local AAA

> Review the rules of the road - don't assume they are the same as the U.S. Germany enforces speed limits!

> Bring cash and coins. We used cash much more than we would in the U.S. A lot of smaller restaurants don't accept card and cash is good for tipping too.
